Revolution Cream Blush Palette

Ive never really been into cream blush as to be honest I was happy enough with powder.  The only time I did try it I put on way too much and ended up looking like one of them kids entertainment clowns, you know the ones with the really bad face paint that scared the poop out of all the kids.

After seeing so many reviews on cream blushes and people saying they love that is gives a more natural flush I thought I would try again. I looked and just didn't want to spend a lot on something I might only use once.

Fast forward a few weeks and I noticed Makeup Revolution had a deal where if you sent so much you  got the cream blush palette and a few more things for free. Brilliant!

When I opened it I fell in love with the colours, 8 shades so there should be at least one to suit every skin shade.

They blended quite easily so I didn't look like the previously mentioned clown. I mean I'm still not an expert but I will keep using these until I get it perfect. I can see how people love the look of these over powders as you can't see any chalkiness that you get with some powders. But I am not ready to swap from powders just yet.

Do you get on with cream blushers? Is there a perfect brush to go with it?

Paprika Burger with Apple and Beetroot Salad

Apple salad

Salad doesn't have to be boring and my apple and beetroot salad is far from it. I love this salad at this time of year and it goes with just about anything. Perfect at BBQs and brilliant for dinner parties.

Today I decided to make it with Homemade Paprika Burgers and they went together perfectly.

Burger Ingredients (makes 4)

500g Less than 5% fat mince beef
1 small onion diced
Chilli and garlic seasoning
Salt & Pepper

Combine the mince with the onion and mix well

Add a sprinkle of salt, pepper, chilli and garlic seasoning along with a heaped teaspoon of paprika and mix together.

Shape mixture into 4 equal size burgers and fry on a griddle pan to desired doneness.

Apple Salad

Whilst burgers are cooking you can start on the salad.

Salad Ingredients

1 Apple
Cherry Tomatoes
2 Spring Onions

Cheese optional

Dice the spring onions, beetroot and cucumber and add to a bowl with chopped lettuce.

Using a spiraliser make apple and carrot ribbons and add to the bowl.

Half tomatoes and grated cheese is optional and give a final mix.

Plate up a generous amount of salad and 2 of the burgers and you have a filling meal which is tasty and healthy.

Share the Love Monday

Here are the Blog posts Ive been reading and loving this past week

1. How to Fight Procrastination  By The Curvaceous Vegan. I read this at the beginning of last week when I was going through a bit of a blog rut and I realised I was Procrastinating and I managed to sit and schedule a full week of posts. I think we all are guilty of this sometimes.

2. Sunday Smiles By Natasha Burr. I love reading these weekly posts, It shows there is always lots of things in a week to smile about. If you are having a bad day think of all the good things that have happened and write them in a list maybe this will make you realise that actually your life isn't really that bad.

3. 30 Thoughts About Turning 30   By I turned 30 a couple of weeks ago and this was too funny. I thought the same, I had the fear ... It was real. I thought my mum was really old when she reached 30.  I still feel like I could put on my uniform and go to school. Wow what am I going to feel like when 40 comes around!

4. 15 Ways to be a Unicorn  By Dorkface. This may be an old post but you know what .... I want to be a bloody unicorn. I want to Fart glitter, look magical and want rainbows to fly out of my mouth every time I speak. If this post helps me to do that ... well who wouldn't have it as a favourite post. No really its a brilliant motivation piece and definitely worth a read.

So these are the posts Ive been loving this week

What about you what posts do you like to read?

Lush's Green Bubbleroon

A bath is something I look forward to now. I used to have one every night (I was obsessed) but since having a child showers are just faster and easier. Bath's are now my me time and wind down time. I try and make sure I get at least one a week and make sure its a relaxing and special one.

Im a massive Lush fan but always go for the same smells the sweet ones so when I was given a Lush Green Bubbleroon in a goodie bag recently I was happy to try something different.

The scent of this is very much Spring. Lush describe it as a 'fresh summer meadow'. It smells like fresh grass and isn't over bearing at all.

I crumbled a quarter of the Green Bubbleroon under hot running water and let it do its thing. I do have to say the Bubbleroons don't bubble as much as the bubble bars but they seem to be a lot more moisturising on the skin.

I couldn't really smell it after sitting in the bath for a while but I may have just got used to it. I couldn't really smell it on my skin either after. I will say that my skin was lovely and soft so thats a really big plus for me as I have very dry skin.

I think if sweet or over powering scents are not your thing this would be perfect for you its really refreshing and pleasant but I think I prefer my comforter.

I wouldn't rule out buying this again though as my skin thoroughly enjoyed it.

Have you tried this, What did you think?

Healthy Eton Mess

Eton Mess

This time of year I start craving cold refreshing desserts like sorbets but a favourite of mine is Eton Mess. The sugar and cream laden dessert is not the healthiest though and I am really trying to be a bit healthier at the moment.

Spritz a baking sheet with cal controlled oil.

Whisk egg whites, cream of tartar and salt in a bowl.

Add sweetner a spoon at a time - whisk until stiff and glossy.

Gently fold in vanilla.

Spoon splodges onto the baking sheet.

Cook for 18-20mins.

Bumble and Bumble - The Surf Set

surf spray

For Christmas I got the Bumble and Bumble Good Tidings set. It came with the Surf spray which I have had before and a mini shampoo and conditioner.

I love Bumble and Bumble and the Surf shampoo and conditioner was no exception. It left my hair bouncy and full bodied without the need of blow drying.

Every girl wants big, swishy, voluminous hair right? I know I do and the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray does just this. You can either apply it to damp hair before blow drying (works amazingly) or if your lazy like me I leave my hair to naturally dry and them spritz this in after to give me that beach wave.

surf spray

I used this trio on my 30th birthday and the surf spray added that extra bit of texture without feeling grubby. Below photo was after wearing the spray for 4 hours and it still had texture. My hair is normally quite limp if left to dry naturally.

I have tried a few salt sprays on the market each one working well but I think this one has to be my favourite.

I will definitely buy the full size shampoo and conditioner and the surf spray is something I will always repurchase. I can see this being my go to hairstyle this summer.

Do you like salt sprays?

Charity Casino Night with Ladbrokes

Last month I was happy to attend a Charity poker night at the Double Tree Leeds with Ladbrokes. Now I have to say I don't gamble much as I hate parting with money and to be fair I don't really understand how to do it. I love the 2p machines in arcades in seaside towns but I sweat at the thought of putting money in the 10p version.

With this being for charity I jumped at the chance to learn some poker as this is a game that has always intrigued me, and boy I'm glad I did. Also what I loved was it was for the charity of the winners choice so everyone was playing with a charity in mind and I think this raises awareness to lots of charity as people were discussing the charities to each other on the night and why they wanted to choose them. I think I nearly cried twice at peoples stories.

The event was Great Gatsby themed so everyone put on their glad rags and I have to say they all looked amazing. It was a sea of sequins and feathers and I bloody loved it!! We were treated to delicious canap├ęs and wine all night too.

We were split over 3 tables, each with a dealer and the poker playing began. We had a practice round and then we played for real, and it was so much fun (especially when I won).  I was surprised at how well I did and after some time we were condensed onto 2 tables and then I even made it onto the winners table. I didn't get into the top 5 but I wasn't bothered I started cheering on the others as when someones charity is going walk away with £500 I don't think it matters who wins.

I also have to do a big shout out to the magician. He was freaking amazing. He did a trick on me and changed the card I was holding in my hand without touching me. I nearly threw the card, I didn't want to hold a magic card haha. I would love to see him again he's one of the best close up magicians I have ever seen and I have seen a few.

So the night was a success and Ladbrokes should be very proud. Also all the photos on this post were taken by Search Labs as I was having such a good time I forgot to take snaps.

Please take a minute to think of what charity you would have chose and is there a way you can help them?  Charities survived on donations like this and Im so glad to have been a part of it.
