Label.m Powder Pink Spray* | Review

If you read my blog regularly you will know I love changing my hair colour but now I'm getting a little older I have been a little scared to have bright coloured hair especially working in a office environment.

I love the pastel hair colours and with Lable.m powders I can enjoy experimenting with colourful hair knowing I can just wash it out at the end of the day.

The spray is so easy to use I just sprayed it to the area I wanted coloured at around 10cm from the hair and brushed it through and it was as simple as that.

I am so happy with the results and cant wait to get my hands on the rest of the colours. Below is a few pictures of my rocking some pink ends for a wedding. At £8.45 at Look Fantastic its so much cheaper than having your hair done and you can buy a few colours so you can change with your mood.

All that's left now is to decide what other colours I want.

A Promise To My Hair

Hair I know I have neglected you lately and you are not your usual shiny self. I have put you through a lot of stripping and dyeing to get my blonde back and haven't given you the love and nurturing you need.

So hair here is my promise to you

* I will Always do a final rinse with cool water.
I'm not a fan of pouring cold water on my head especially in the winter months but this does seem to work and make my hair look less dull. Cool water closes the cuticle so moisture will be sealed in.

* I will be extra careful when you're wet.
Wet hair is so much easier to damage than dry hair. Avoid brushing with a normal brush choosing to use a wide tooth comb instead.

*I will not rub you to death
I am a bugger for rubbing my hair with a towel to make it dryer before I go to bed so I don't get a wet pillow. Instead lightly squeezing the moisture out will prevent breakage.

* I will use a weekly hair mask
I don't know why I stopped doing this I always did this with an argon oil based hair mask once a week and really felt the benefit then one day I didn't repurchase. Masks make my hair feel stronger and shiner and more hydrated.

* Get you cut regularly
Now this is my worst crime I can go over 6 months without a cut. I have a fear I will end up coming out with a 90s bob. I need to man up and not feel sick with every snip.

Now I do 95% of the time let my hair dry naturally and hardly ever use heated stylers  unless I'm off for a night on the town ( hardly ever I've turned into a right bore!) but I promise to use a good heat defense spray when I do.

So there I have wrote it all down so I have no excuse to not follow it. Lets see how long it lasts!

Wish me Luck!!!!

Holi One Colour Festival Leeds | The Day

A week ago I went to the 1st Leeds Holi One Colour Festival and wow what a colourful day it turned out to be. The sun was shining and people were dancing and having a brilliant time what a way to spend the day.

I went with Keli from Kels Kurls and my Partner Simon who did the photography for me so I could get into the spirit.

We arrived early in the day so had a walk round and got a bite to eat (a buger as big as my head) and just took in the surroundings. The music was playing and people were relaxing on the grass taking in the rays.

Then I received my Colour pack which had 5 super bright colours in and I couldn't wait for the first O'clock to throw them.

We were giving a 5 minute reminder so people could go and buy more powder and then the 10 second countdown began.

The air became filled with a wash of brightly coloured powder (a word of warning don't open your mouth in awe, it doesn't taste nice),  as they mixed it turned into a brown dust before settling. It was amazing to watch.

Lipton Ice Tea were there on the day giving out samples and taking photo booth pictures in the back of a camper. We laughed so much at the pictures, I don't think I will be getting a black curly bob any time soon!

We Finished the Day with one last powder throw and walked back to the car still laughing at the photo.

There is still the Glasgow and the Bristol- Bath one this Saturday get it checked out here if you live near

Its was a brilliant day out and so much different to other festivals I have been to!

Pixi Flawless & Poreless | Review

I love a primer and I have tried a fair few in the past 2 years. I didn't know what to expect from Pixi Flawless and Poreless* as I had not seen any reviews on it.

Heres what Pixi have to say about the formular -
'Primer creates a seamless, silky canvas with a beautiful no-shine, cashmere finish. The formula's skin-loving ingredients clear and unblock pores to allow for utterly flawless, long-lasting makeup application. It is the perfect skin primer for all complexions and all skin types. Pore minimizing. Shine controlling. Hydrating. Oil free. Hypoallergenic. For all skin types.'

I love the packaging its a nice big tube a little like the Smashbox one so it has plenty of product in there. I also like these size tubes as when you are running out you can cut the top of and the hole is big enough to get your fingers right to the bottom to make sure you get the last bit of product. (yes I am a tight arse and I dont like waste)

The products itself is a cream textured primer something I'm not that keen on in primers I've tried before I much prefer the texture of the silicon based ones (personal preference).

Some of the Beneficial Ingredients
Willow Bark gives natural shine control
Salicylic Acid clears and unblocks pores
Shea Butter to nourish the skin
Titanium Dioxide protects the skin's surface
Enantia Chlorantha bark is medicinal & anti-viral

On applying this I just worked it into my skin like a foundation and it had a very light tint to it which I like.
I applied my foundation on the top and it looked lovely and flawless I wouldn't say it was any better than my other primers for how my make up applied but I liked it just as much.

On the weekend I wore it for a wedding and then I was going out that night and I can honestly say I didn't need to reapply my base. Pixi Flawless and Poreless made my foundation stay in place all day.

So after the initial thought of not sure of the cream texture I take it back and will definitely repurchase this.

I have dry skin and this also made my face a little dewy which I like from a product as some primers can dry me out. So I am very happy with this product and look forward to trying more Pixi products.

Which type of primer do you prefer??

Le Chalet French Tea Rooms

Le Chalet
31-32 Park Row
LS1 5JD

I am definitely a girl who loves a cup of tea and finger food over a big meal and when Le Chalet invited me along to sample their menu I was happy to do so.

I love English afternoon tea and loved going to tea rooms but I had never visited a French one before.

The counter was fully stocked and really drew you in with all the bright colours and the amazing smells of the fresh bread and pastries. The cakes looked delicious.

I then took a little plate and filled it up with some lovely samples. The sandwiches were made from the fresh bread and the textures was very pleasing. My favourite finger food was definitely the quiche the pastry was very crumbly and the egg mixture very juicy the perfect combination and the flavours were balanced beautifully.

I couldn't visit a Tea Room without having tea so I purchased a Cherry Infused tea for a very reasonable price of £2.50 and wow it tasted good. I imagined it to just taste like a fruit tea bags but no you can actually taste the tea leaves with a hint of cherry it was the best flavoured tea that has passed my lips and I have sampled quite a few.

I also got 4 cups out of this so very generous servings.

They then came round with Stew and this was my favourite of the day the combination of the different ingredients matched perfectly and I so wished I was in the comfort of my own home so I could drink the juice out of the bowl as it all passed through my fork and didn't think I would look very ladylike slurping the contents from it.

I felt bad for leaving my partner at home whilst I got to tantalise my taste buds so I took him a selection of biscuits to make up for it. I did pinch one and I it too wasn't disappointing.

The staff was lovely and helpful and made a lovely thank you speech.

So I will leave you with a few pictures of the beautiful decor as its been a very picture heavy post.

Lee Stafford Argon Oil from Morroco products | Review

I have to admit I'm not really a hair product kind of girl other than products I apply in the bath or shower. I don't normally like the smell or feel of hair sprays as my hair is quite fine and it can weigh it down so I look like Little Nicky out of Pepper Ann! (Not a good Look .. Trust me)

I Received the Lee Stafford Anti- Frizz Serum Spray and the Flexible Hold Hairspray as part of my goodie bag and I am so glad I did.

Lee Stafford Anti- Frizz Serum Spray
I fell in love with this and it also made it into my monthly favourites. It really works, I know I know so it should for £9.99 but this is the only product I have tried and would re buy for frizz. I just spray it on my fly aways and run my hands over and they are gone!!
It smells lovely and doesn't weigh down my hair at all. I recommend this so much. It is also a anti humidity spray so brilliant for this warm weather we have been getting.

Butane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Alcohol Denat., Propane, Isobutane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Dimethicone, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Parfum (Fragrance), Coumarin, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Limonene, Citronellol

 Lee Stafford Flexible Hold Hairspray
The only time I use hairspray is when I have an updo that I need to stay put. I decided to try out the Power Plaits that was on the card that came with these products which is just two french plaits which are placed around the head into a crown shape (see below). I used the Anti frizz spray after brushing making my hair alot easier to work with and once my plaits were in place I sprayed with the Flexible hold hairspray.
Once again the smell wasnt bad like most hairspays and my hair lasted all night and I actually went to sleep with it in and woke up with it still intact.

Alcohol Denat., Butane, Propane, Isobutane, Aqua, Polyurethane-14, AMP-Acrylates Copolymer, Octylacrylamide/Acrylates/Butylaminoethyl, Methacrylate Copolymer, Aminomethyl propanol, Panthenol, Parfum (Fragrance), Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Glycerine, Hydrolyzed Silk, Coumarin, Geraniol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Limonene, Linalool, Citronellol

I have found a few new products which will definitely be repurchased in the future and I love using these together.

Have you tried any of the range?

Monthly Favourites

I always forget to do monthly favourites and to be honest most months I love the same stuff so thought I would go back to something I did at the beginning of my blog and that is on Months when I rediscovered products and have found a new love I would do a post with the above categories and here are this months.......

Old faithful – Model Co Lipstick in Kitty

This is my perfect Nude and the only one I wear. I didn't wear this for a while due to my beauty room been over run by boxes in the run up to my meet up but this was the first thing to go back into my makeup bag.
The smell is also a big plus point for this lipstick it smells like sweeties!!

New discovery – Lee Staffords Anti Frizz Argon Oil Spray*
This has been the best discovery in a long time I received this for the goodie bags and so glad I did it keeps the Frizz at bay whilst smelling great. It also contains argon oil so is brilliant for your hair too. (Full post on this coming soon with hairstyle)
Most recommended – Denman Tangle Smoother*
I love my Tangle Teezer but sometimes I wish It had a handle as I love to use it to brush my hair when I get out of the bath as I don't like using an hair dryer so need to get it smooth to dry nice and also quicker. The Denman Tangle Smoother glides through my hair with ease and feels so comfortable to hold too. I love the neon pink too.
Not for me - Lushs Jungle Solid Conditioner
I love Lush Solid Shampoo so was excited to try their solid conditioner. I went for the Jungle as it was suppose to 'tame the mane' I thought with lots of oils and butters it would make my hair soft but I just couldnt get enough product on my hair. Im not saying it wont work for you but I just didn't feel 'conditioned'

So there you go my loved and not so loved products for the month of July see what August brings
