The Suqqu Experience - Gankin Massage

Wednesday, March 05, 2014

Last Month I was contacted by Selfridges to go and have a little pamper by a company called Suqqu. I cannot express how excited I was as I had heard good things about this brand but not really had the chance to try it out.

Suqqu is a Japanese brand which promotes and enhances natural beauty. The name SUQQU was derived from the Japanese word sukku-to meaning "posture with attitude". Currently only available at Selfridges in the UK Their products range from Skincare to Make-up.

On the Day I arrived at Manchester Selfridges not really knowing what I was going to experience I was greeted by a lovely Lady and was given a glass of amazing tasting peach green tea. I was then told I was to have a Gankin Massage. An Award Winning Japanese facial massage followed by a peek of the new Spring Collection Available now in Selfridges.

The Suqqu Gankin Massge was created by exploring the relationship between stiff facial muscles and sagging skin. Stiffness indicates that the Lymph flow is not working efficiantly and therefore prevents waste from being drained smoothly causing the skin to swell or sag.

The massage itself last 3 minutes and it works on the bone structure, muscles, lymph and blood circulation. This is to help ease away stiffness and tension and enhances the overall metabolism to create a sharper definition.

I was then Introduced to the area Manager Tiziana who would do my treatment. This lady was fantastic and had amazing knowledge of all the products used and I loved the way she informed me on everything she was doing and why. She made the whole process very relaxing.

Firstly my hair was wrapped up out of my face and all my makeup was removed with the most amazingly soft sponge cloth which didn't irritate my dry /sensitive skin at all.

Then on to the massage and nothing could have prepared me for what was about to happen my face had a deep massage. A thick layer of  Musculate Massage Cream  was applied to my fully cleansed face and then the massage began. She applied just the right amount of pressure draining my lymphs and making my face feel incredibly relaxed. I did stop to think about all the weird and wonderful faces the shoppers could see but I was enjoying myself too much to care.

My face was then fully cleansed and a 3 step moisturising regime was done starting with the Moisture repair Essence then the Moisture Repair Cream and finishing with the Moisture Barrier Cream. I received a little goody bag containing the 3 moisturisers and have been using these since and my skin has really benefited from the 3 steps rather than the one moisturiser I use to use.

After my skin was lovely and soft I then got a sneek peak at their new collection which as just been released this month. There is some lovely new eyeshadows all in wearable shades and Tiziana did my makeup using products from the new range.

Here was my finished look a very natural eye look with a nude lip.

I really enjoyed my day at Suqqu and would really recommend the Gankin Massage to anyone. I would like to say a big thank you to the staff for making me feel welcome and relaxed.

Anyone else experienced this before?
