Tea and Me

So I thought I would do a bit of a different post today as know a lot of you love tea!!

So as its January and I everyone and their Grandma are trying to be a little more healthy I have been trying to cut down on my coffee and builders tea intake and drink more fruit and green tea. Its not so much the caffeine as the lashings of Milk and the sugar I have to have in a coffee. Yes I love to have the full cow in my cup!

So thought I would share a few of my favourites at the moment. If I'm feeling in the mood for a green tea I have been reaching for Clipper Pure green tea. This took me a while to get use to but now I really like it. If I'm wanting a green tea but wanting a fruity mix I have been loving the Tetleys mango and passion fruit green tea I actually got this recommended in  a twitter chat so thank you who ever that was its yummy.

Then sometimes Im just in a mood for a subtle flavour and the Twinnings Liquorice has been one of my favourite just a gentle taste of liquorice and lovely to warm you up on a cold night whilst watching the box in your onsie.  The other one I have been getting for quite a while is the Morrisons In the pink pear and vanilla I love this subtle fruity tea perfect for a rainy day to make me feel warm and snuggly again.

Then some times I need something to wake me up so my morning tea of choice is Sainsburies Taste the difference Lemon, Ginger and Honey I got these given one day and I love the flavour its got quite a kick to it and really does wake me up in a morning. Then theres the days when I just need a cup of tea with milk and for this I reach for the Earl Greys. I do love a good cup of earl grey and not much milk is needed and I don't have sugar in tea so perfect all round.

What teas are you drinking at the moment??

Little Primark Sale Haul

Just a short post to show you what I picked up in the Primark Sale. I am really trying to watch my money this year and save for House so think you may see a lot of bargain items popping up on the blog.

I m in real need for statement necklaces as I hardly have any and think they can dress a plain outfit up in seconds. Primark had some lovely ones and these are what I bought.

Also in the back the blue daisy material is a dress I got in the sale for £5 I have been loving these style of dresses in Primark so had to buy this one.

On to the Jewelly I got 2 big statement necklaces and a long necklace for my more busy dresses.

I adore this Leaf Print and cannot wait to wear this over Jumpers and dresses.

This one seems quite tribal to me and I love how chunky it is I haven't got anything like it and cannot wait to experiment with outfits.

Some times I just want a nice long necklaces to go with my skater dresses or more busy outfits and I thought this was perfect.

I am really impressed with my bargains the 2 statement necklaces were £2.00 each and the long necklace was £1.00 so all together I spent £10.00.

I do love Primark for a little guilt free shopping.

Have you picked up any bargains lately??

Ted Baker Bronzing Compact

You know when you get a product and you can't stop looking at it you take a look do the usual wows and awwws and then repeat the process on a hourly basis for the unforeseeable future well that how I was when I received the Ted Baker Bronzing compact at Christmas. Now I'm not going to lie I didn't expect much from the quality of the Ted Baker makeup when I received the Great and the Gorgeous set for Christmas but I loved how the set looked and asked for it anyway.

Well wow how wrong could I be I was totally blown away by the pigmentation in the products and have thoroughly loved using this set. On looking at the set and asking for it I thought the Bronzing Compact was nothing more than a mirror so was took aback when I open the compact to see the amazing embossed Bronzer glowing in front of me.

The packaging is a pretty gold plastic case and yes it doesn't feel expensive but its sturdy and looks gorgeous so Im happy with that. It has a sturdy clasp and makes a really nice satisfying noise when closed.

I love that it comes with a mirror too handy for on the go application or when you don't have a mirror to hand. Could also just be taken out to pretend your using the mirror just so you can admire the bronzer once more (and let others look at it in envy). Don't know why it gives me so much pleasure but it does!!!

Onto the product itself It is a lovely bronzer not orange at all and has 2 different shades of brown and the lovely gold shimmer. Don't know how well you can see from the picture but I have been trying my best not to rub the TB off so have been gently going round haha.

Its definitely a wearable bronzer and can be worn subtle or layer up for a more defined contour.

I am definitely going to purchase more ted baker Makeup in the future and cannot wait to see what they bring out next year for Christmas.

Im off now to stare at it again any one else get this and does it have the same effect on you??

Elizabeth Arden Colour Intrigue Gel Eyeliner In Ocean Teal

For Christmas I got my friend a Elizabeth Arden Colour Intrigue Gel eyeliner in Bronze as she always uses black but was complaining about it making her very blue eyes stand out too much. I thought the bronze would be perfect for her as it would be a little more subtle. I fell in love with the packaging when it came and nearly kept it for myself.

A few weeks later I was on Amazon doing yet again more Christmas shopping when I came across it in Ocean Teal. Growing up I use to love experimenting with brighter colours and blue was a favourite of mine especially cobalt blue mascara! Green was also a colour I haven't ventured into for a while and when I saw this I had to have it.

I love Teal and Green is definitely my favourite colour and the metallic finish to this is gorgeous and reminds me of mermaids. I found this on Amazon for an Amazing £3.89, you can find it here.

The product itself comes in a little screw lid pot with 3.5g of gel eyeliner and also comes with a little brush. Now the brush is not amazing but it works fine and I cannot complain for £3.89.

Pigmentation wise I don't think this is the most pigmented eyeliner I have by a long way but the colour is amazing and can easily be built up. It can also be swept over the eye with a thicker brush and be used as an eyeshadow. It is so easy to apply and glides across the lids making application simple and fool proof.

It is very long lasting as a gel eyeliner should be and does stay on until I clean my face in the evening. I would definitely recommend this product for this amazing price and do think that I am going to purchase the Bronze one too.

I have a few gorgeous Elizabeth Arden make up products now and so happy with them

Anyone tried the other colours in these??

Korres Lip Butter In Wild Rose

Korres is a Company that I was wanting to try for a while before I received my 1st Item. I loved the look of their natural products and the simple packaging.

I have tried a few of their skin care in the past and I was super excited to receive a Korres Lip butter in Wild Rose in a Beauty Box Swap I did with Sandra at Beauty Balm

I love my Lip balms and as this is a tinted one I couldn't wait to try it out. The box is so simple and pretty and I love the handbag friendly little pot it comes in. It has a firm screw lip and is very sturdy, not like some lip balms when the packing is quite flimsy and can end up with a squashed product if your bag is accidentally sat on.

The product itself is described by Korres as 'A rich buttery lip balm that melts on the lips and offers a shiny, tinted finish' and I couldn't agree more the Rich Shea butter leaves the lips deeply Moisturised and the natural oils soothe and condition the lips. I love the feel of this on my lips it doesn't feel greasy at all and you can feel the butter working its way in.

The scent is so pleasant on the nose not too over powering just a gentle rose scent and I absolutely love this. (I found myself sniffing it quite a bit when I first received it - yes I'm a little weird)

Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter Ingredients:
Polybutene, Trimethylolpropane Triisostearate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Polyethylene, Hydroxystearic Acid, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Dicalcium Phosphate, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Sucrose Tetrastearate Triacetate, Tocopherol, Flavor (Aroma), Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax, Rosa Canina Flower Extract, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter Extract. May Contain: Red 7 Lake, Yellow 6 Lake, Blue 1 Lake .

Korres says of the Wild Rose Lip butter 'The wild rose oil, rich in linoleic and linolenic acid, has significant healing, moisturising and softening properties. At the same time it forms a protective film on the skin that helps cell regeneration and improves the texture of the epidermis. Furthermore, the wild rose fruit is noted for its high vitamin C content that demonstrates significant repairing activity to fine lines and skin colour disorders'

Korres products are definitely something I will keep buying and these lip butters are amazing I know I will find myself repurchasing these again and again.

You can purchase this at the moment from Look Fantastic for £8.00 with free delivery. They have a sale on some items too.

Are you Lip butter fans??

Have you tried these products??

Anti Aging and Me

So Now I'm in my late 20's cough cough (can't believe I'm saying that!!!) I have decided I need to up my skincare routine. I'm not getting any younger and my skin is definitely changing. Them tell tale fine lines and crows feet are making themselves a nice little home on my face and seem to be settling in just fine. I'm trying to reassure myself its just because I'm a happy person and they are laughter lines.

I suffer from Dry skin too and this is terrible for premature aging so I am going to start taking a few extra steps to try and slow this process down.

(picture stole from google)

I have been doing a lot of reading up lately and alot of the websites I've read say aging starts in your Mid 20s so now is the time for me to try and take control of this nasty wrinkle monster trying to take me over.

My 1st change is to swap to using a Gentle Cleanser I will be choosing a creamy one for my dry skin, or if you have oily skin an oil-free, foaming one will probably be better. Wash with warm or cool water as hot water can strip away your skin's natural moisture. Also remember to pat your face dry rather than rubbing dry to avoid irritation.

(not the most attractive photo but you can see the fine lines around my eyes and stress lines on my head)

Moisturiser is a very important part especially for my dry sensative skin as it protects and improves your skin. I pat it on while my skin is still damp to lock in a bit of moisture. Even if you have oily skin or breakouts, you can use a lightweight, oil-free moisturiser every day and this will benefit the ageing process.
A bit I always forget to do unless it is built into my moisturiser or Foundation is to wear a sunscreen SPF 30 or above is recommended and this is something I'm going to try and do. Winter sun can damage your skin as well as summer sun so don't skip this step in colder months.

Some other little steps Im going to do are Exercise as this will increase blood flow and also sweat impurities out of my skin and eat healthy balanced meals. As its true what they say you are what you eat.
Any one else getting to this stage of their lives where aging is now becoming a concern??

What steps are you taking to battle the wrinkle monster?

Kallisto Creams - Vanilla Body Scrub and Body Cream

I have reviewed a few of Kallisto Creams products before and today I am going to review 2 on the same post. This is because these have the same scent and I love to use them together.

The 1st Product is the Vanilla Body Scrub* and I have to say when I first opened the jar I was so excited to try it. The sweet vanilla scent hit me in the face within seconds and I instantly fell in love. I have used this for around 2 months now once a week to exfoliate my dry legs and I will be repurchasing. The scent stays on your skin and it leaves you lovely and soft.

I would say the only problem I had with this and this was my error was I left the lid slightly loose one night and the top dried up. But not to worry I scraped off the top with a spoon and used this in my next bath and with a little water it worked perfectly.
I smelled so nice after the bath too like vanilla ice-cream yum yum.

I then put on the Vanilla Body Cream* to my lightly toweled dried body so It locks all the moisture in. This is a very rich cream so a little goes a long way. This also smells delicious a little more subtle than the body cream but still equally as nice.
I have really dry skin and this contains coconut oil, Shea Butter and Almond oil so moisturises me perfectly.

I love Kallisto Creams for there homemade natural products and urge you to try their vanilla range it smells so luxurious and divine. They are based in Leeds but do ship a few of their handmade natural products to the EU and all products are made to order.

Go on I dare you to have a look

MAC Mineralised Eyeshadow in Fresh & Easy

Don't you just love it when you rediscover a product you use to love? A few weeks before Christmas I was tidying through my makeup arranging them into my new storage when I came across the MAC eyeshadow trio in Fresh and Easy. I loved this when I first got in maybe 6 months ago but I think it ended up in the back of my drawer after a few weeks and has been untouched ever since.

I have used this Trio a lot over Christmas and I now love it again. It has 3 very different shades a matte light Pink perfect for a base colour or for a subtle look. A dark pearly Purple/burgundy  colour which looks slightly brown when swatched, I love this in my crease it gives amazing depth and I have used it alot with the light pink for day time looks over Christmas. Last but not least a Blue Grey colour I use this for bases for smokey eyes or can add subtle depth in the crease.

MAC describes these as 'Lightweight and Sheer with a velvety matte finish' and I totally have to agree the pigmentation is not over powering and is so nice to wear.

I love these trios perfect for my handbag for on the go applications or for when I don't want to take a bag full of makeup somewhere.

Think I need to start a MAC palette next though

Winter tip of the day - Wear Sunscreen

No, sunscreen isn't just for summertime.
Winter sun combined with snow glare can still damage your skin. For best results apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen to your face and your hands and anything else exposed about 30 minutes before going outside. Reapply frequently if you stay outside a long time.
