Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel
Monday, October 14, 2013
I bought this mosituriser ages ago when i was on a drive to sort my acne prone skin out.
The lady at the Clinique counter suggested I try this as it is oil-free and non-comedogenic, which basically means it doesn't cause breakouts and doesn't clog pores.
The fact that it is a gel and not a lotion was a great selling point for me as i had done a little bit of research before i left and found that gel's are better for oilier skin types apposed to lotions which are generally better for dry/normal skin types.
This moisturiser sounded great and perfect for me plus it had such great reviews and seemed such good value for money I thought I would give it a go! I think it was about £29.50 for 125ml I paid the extra £1.50 for the pump dispenser which I think is worth it.
Clinique claim that the mositorising gel gives you the lightweight hydration without oiliness.
Which i suppose you could say is true but for me it's a little too lightweight, it is almost watery and so doesn't feel very mositurising.
I really liked applying the moisturiser from the pump lots easier and less messing around that shaking it out from the bottle.
There is a slight smell to it which i think is quite chemically smelling by my fiance thinks smells nice! typical haha
The biggest problem for me is that I sometimes use medicated products for acne which makes my skin extra sensitive I also have the occasional micro-dermabrasion or peel and during these days using this mosituriser is torture, it literally stings my face!! so if you have sensitive skin then i would say that this is a no go.
I was really disappointed with this as i felt for sure it was going to be great from all the great reviews it had : (
Anyone else been let down by a moisturiser?

I have to be honest and say that I'm on the same page as you - this particular moisturiser was one of the very first premium brand products I bought but it doesn't really do anything for my skin, so I haven't used it since. If you're looking for a mega hydration boost - try the Estée Lauder Hydrationist - it's fantastic! Xx

So sad it did not work so well for you... I have been let down by a few products and only used them as a hand cream instead. Since I have quite sensitive skin on my face...

That's too bad this didn't work out. I remember using the lotion when I was in college and really liking it.
