Hoola bronzer by benefit
Friday, June 21, 2013
I really hate bronzers with sparkly shimmery bits in them, I think it is because I like to look matt and clear because of my oily skin type, I also don’t like to be too bronzed so it’s sometimes difficult to find the right product for me.
I came upon Hoola by accident… well it was actually a very strategic sales move by the girl behind the Benefit counter at Meadowhall! Originally I went in looking for a highlighter but ended up with Hoola as well, after she did me a full make over with her favorite summer products. I liked the very subtle shade which is perfect for me and it is matte too!! ..Bonus
It comes in a little compact box (great for putting in your bag) with a mirror on the inside of the lid and a small brush. I do think the bristles of this brush are too hard for the powder though and they usually end up on your face along with the bronzer. I did notice this when I was having the makeover in-store but decided to buy it anyway and use my own brush.
I like to be able to build products so this is great for me, I also have the tendency to be a little heavy handed which can be a nightmare with a dark glittery bronzers! I usually end up having to wash it all off but with this one it isn’t a problem.
I think this bronzer would definitely be too light for the avid bronzer lovers out there but if you’re anything like me you will love this.
My only concern (other than the brush) is that it is quite pricey especially as it comes in quite a small box, I do miss not being able to get my biggest makeup brush and swirl it around the powder and brush it all over my face, but I guess we can have everything…well ….at least not all of the time : )

ReplyDeleteI have never seen Halo in stores... I am a HUGE fan of Benefit's Hoola bronzer but sometimes it can be a little bit too dark when I'm at my fairest. I will definitely be on the look out for this one! I love matte bronzers :)

I love this bronzer! I've been using it for a year now and I'm about to finally run out (I had a jumbo box!). What brush do you use to apply this?

I have a set by japonesque (they are quite expensive i got them for christmas) and i use the smallest of the blusher brushes as the compact is quite small. I find it so much better using this as i loose less powder. X
Deletei agree! i hate shimmer too, although i wear it on occasion. i much prefer a matte tan and shimmery eyes or lips. ive wanted to try this for a while, its now on my wish list. lovely blog glad i found it, now following you on gfc and blogloving. my blog is themakeupmouse.blogspot.co.uk if you want to take a peek at it xx
